Cat in the Hat In this writing exercise, the students will create a story fashioned after the Dr. Suess Classic. Two characters live together. One has to go away on an errand far away. The other is left home alone. A crazy character comes bursting into the house and causes a terrible mess. The Main Character has to get rid of the trouble maker and clean up the house before the Friend gets home. It is ideal for Second Grade students or First Graders later in the school year.
